Language switcher for Bitrix24 On-Premise

Problem
In the cloud version of Bitrix24, users can change the interface language themselves in their profile settings. In Bitrix24 On-Premise, this option is not available in the same standard form.
For international companies, this can quickly become inconvenient in everyday work. Teams often work in several languages, new employees come from different countries and individual departments may need different language versions of the interface.
If users cannot change their language themselves, additional coordination with administrators or technical workarounds become necessary.
This leads to:
- Users cannot quickly adapt the interface to their preferred working language.
- Administrators are unnecessarily involved in simple language changes.
- Multilingual teams work less comfortably in one shared Bitrix24 environment.
- Onboarding international employees becomes harder.
- Individual language preferences cannot be mapped flexibly enough.
Solution
WAM IT developed a custom module that adds a language switcher to the Bitrix24 On-Premise user interface.
After installation, an additional language switcher appears in the interface. Users can choose which available language they want to use in the portal. The selection applies only to the current user and does not change the language settings of other employees.
How it works:
- A language switcher with the available languages is shown in the user interface.
- Users choose the desired language themselves.
- The language changes only for the current user.
- Other users and global portal settings remain unchanged.
- The selection is saved and automatically applied again on later logins.
- All language packs installed in the portal are supported.
- The module integrates into the existing Bitrix24 interface.
- No changes to the system core are required.
The module is especially useful for international companies, branches in different countries and organizations with multilingual teams. Each user can work with the same Bitrix24 installation while adapting the interface to their own working language.
